Tooro, Proline share spoils in Fort Portal

first_imgTooro United remains 12th on the standings.(PHOTO/File)Yafesi Mubiru scored his second goal in as many games as Tooro United drew 1-1 with Proline on Saturday.Mubiru, scorer of Tooro’s lone goal in their demolition by SC Villa in midweek handed his side the lead in the 30th minute, and as a result went for a break with an advantage. However, the home side was unable to shut out their opponents like they did against Mbarara City in their previous home game, and consequently, Proline levelled. Both sides had hoped to pick all the three points as both are battling demotion. Tooro are the safer of the two teams given they’re 12th in the table standings, but they have not done themselves any good with this stalemate. Had any of Bright Stars and Mbarara City won their respective games, the side would be further down. For Proline, a point is welcome. It is a starting point as they look to vacate the basement which they’ve occupied for larger periods of the season, partly because of the docked points. It is the evening stage of the first round, however, Proline have seven games left to try make amends in the first round and possibly climb up the table. They play fellow strugglers and basement occupants Bright Stars in the next game.Comments Tags: James Begisaproline fcTooro United FCUganda Premier LeagueYafesi Mubirulast_img read more
