first_img IRISH RAIL TODAY unveiled its new website but many customers reported being unable to buy tickets despite “extensive testing” conducted before it went live.The updated site launched this morning promised to give customers more control of their booking. It now allows people to manage their own booking online up to 90 minutes before departure on the date of travel or until they print their ticket.But many users reported being unable to purchase tickets using the new site, with many being sent an error message. There were not any problems when you chose automatic selection.“We have resolved the vast majority of issues with the site now.”With the new fully functioning website, commuters will able to choose from different types of tickets.The semi-flexible option will mean passengers will be able to switch to the train just before or after their booked service without any charge. In addition, they can change to other services online in advance, or cancel their booking entirely, by paying a 20% fee.Fully-flexible will allow customers make time changes or cancellations online up to 90 minutes before departure for no charge. Customers can also switch to any other train on their route on the day of travel at no extra cost.Kenny added: “If you want to change some details, you can do it online now and don’t have to ring up like before.
