Source = e-Travel Blackboard: M.H Travel agents will soon be able to operate their businesses from “anywhere” and at “anytime” following the launch of Amadeus Travena, the industry’s first fully web-based booking solution for travel professionals. The latest offering by Amadeus will begin deployment in the United States and Canada later this year, with other markets to gain access to the solution in early 2012, through twelve languages. “Amadeus Travena was built for travel professionals, by travel professionals,” Amadeus North America president and chief executive Scott Gutz said. “This new solution combines powerful features, customization capabilities, and online convenience with extensive travel content to help agents demonstrate their difference and win in tomorrow’s travel arena.” As well as giving agents access to fully-integrated Amadeus content, the new web-based solution allows for quick deployment of new content and functionality from the travel technology provider. Additionally, Amadeus Travena will let agents apply the solution “the way they want, when they want”, with users able to set preferences and rules to access the program. Amadeus Travena was unveiled to the North American market at THE TRADESHOW, the American Society of Travel Agents’ (ASTA) annual conference in Las Vegas. e-Travel Blackboard attended THE TRADESHOW, which wrapped up on Tuesday.
