JPMorgan Chases Dimon to speak at Baker Institute April 11

Former U.S. Secretary of State James A. Baker III, the honorary chair of the Baker Institute, will offer opening remarks. Baker Institute Founding Director Edward Djerejian will moderate the discussion and a question-and-answer session.JPMorgan Chase is a global financial services firm with assets of $2.2 trillion and operations in more than 60 countries. Previously, Dimon was president and chief operating officer of Bank One Corp., which merged with JPMorgan Chase in 2004. Dimon began his career at American Express as assistant to the president from 1982 to 1985. He went on to serve as chief financial officer and then president of Commercial Credit Co., which became Primerica Corp. and then Travelers Group. Dimon served as Travelers’ president and COO from 1990 to 1999 while concurrently serving as COO of its Smith Barney subsidiary. He became CEO of Smith Barney in January 1996 and then co-chair and co-CEO of the combined brokerage following the 1997 merger of Smith Barney and Salomon Brothers. In 1998, Dimon was named president of Citigroup, formed by the combination of Travelers Group and Citicorp.Dimon serves on the boards of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the Clearing House and the United Negro College Fund.The event is free and open to the public.
