The new line sees the debut of two new smartphones, called Galaxy M10 and M20 (Review). With these phones, Samsung is targeting millennials looking for an attractive design along with a great battery life. The M10 and M20 are the first Samsung phones to sport the new Infinity-V waterdrop display. The phones also tout big batteries with the M20 being the first Samsung phone to offer a 5,000mAh capacity.The Galaxy M10 and M20 will look to help Samsung compete against the likes of Xiaomi, Nokia and Realme in the budget and mid-range segments in India. In terms of design, the M10 and M20 look similar with waterdrop displays and plastic rear panels. The phones differ mainly in hardware and here’s what you need to know.Galaxy M10, M20 specificationsDisplay: The Galaxy M10 sports a 6.22-inch LCD Infinity-V display with an HD+ resolution, while the M20 gets a 6.3-inch Infinity-V display with a FHD+ resolutionProcessor: The Galaxy M10 is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 chipset. The Galaxy M20 gets a 1.8GHz Exynos 7904 processor.RAM: The budget Galaxy M10 will come with 2GB and 3GB of RAM options, while the M20 will get 3GB and 4GB of RAMInternal storage: The 2GB RAM variant of the M10 will come with 16GB of internal storage, while the 3GB RAM variant will come with 32GB of storage. These are the first Samsung phones to sport the new display type that sees a droplet-like notch on the top of the display. This allows for more screen real estate and minimal bezels all around. The M10 gets a 6.2-inch HD+ Infinity-V display, while the M20 gets a slightly bigger 6.3-inch Infinity-V display.– The other big USB is a massive 5,000mAh battery inside the Galaxy M20 which assures a two-day battery life. The Galaxy M20 is the first Samsung phone to come with this battery, which is pretty impressive. The Galaxy M10 gets a smaller 3,400mAh battery, but it should deliver a good battery life as well, considering the basic specs of the device.– The Galaxy M20 is also the first Samsung phone to come with the new Exynos 7904 chipset. This is an octa-core chipset based on a 14nm process and is equipped with two Cortex-A73 cores that run at 1.8GHz, and six Cortex-A53 cores that run at 1.6GHz. Samsung says the chipset has been optimised for India to deliver high-end multimedia capabilities.– Both the Galaxy M10 and M20 also get similar dual camera systems with a 13MP primary sensor and a 5MP ultra wide-angle sensor. The ultra wide-angle lens will allow users to capture more of a scene in a single frame, and it also helps the M10 and M20 phones stand apart in this segment.Galaxy M10, M20 price in IndiaThe Galaxy M10’s price in India starts at Rs 7,990 for the base model with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The 3GB + 32GB variant comes with a price tag of Rs 8,990. The Galaxy M20, on the other hand, starts at Rs 10,990 for the 3GB + 32GB variant and goes up to Rs 12,990 for the 4GB + 64GB configuration.Both the Galaxy M phones are online-only models and will be available on Amazon India and Samsung’s online store starting February 5, 2019.
